The day we got back I convinced my moppy haired Brans to let me give his hair a good trim. Ok, more than a trim. And by convinced, I mean I paid him. It was worth it. I love seeing more of my handsome boy's face.
No more than an hour or two later, this was my handsome boy's face.
Tessa chucked a big Hulk down the stairs, where Brans happened to be standing. Ouch. Lucky for us Daddy loves to sew up a good laceration. About 6 stitches and some laughing gas later, Brans was as good as new and he was excited to show everyone his head wound.
The next exciting thing was our first skiff of snow. My boys were seriously disappointed when they realized their wasn't enough snow to get their sled down the hill in our backyard. Soon boys. Soon.
One of the most exciting things of the month was our daily trips to our lot. Framing has begun and every day we get a better idea of what this house will look like! The kids have been in heaven running around inside, while I try to keep them from falling out a window. By the end of the month we had all the basic framing done! Just in time to keep the December snow out!
Bry was excited for his quick trip with his family to go see the BYU Cougs play Notre Dame. It was super cold and we lost. I don't regret not going.
Plus I was excited for a girls night with my sister and aunt (go see Austenland if you get a chance! So totally cute!)
But I think the most exciting thing from the month of November was the arrival of Grandma and Grandpa and Great Grandma for our annual Thanksgiving reunion! (pic was taken right before heading to church). Cousin Patrick also stayed with us, and our aunts, uncles and cousins came to play every day for the whole vacation! We were only missing one set (the Jensens)....hoping next year we'll ALL be together!
We started it off with our Pie Night. We've found that the night before Thanksgiving is the best time to make and eat our pie. You're always too full after the big Thanksgiving feast to truly enjoy the goodness, so the night before we can fully appreciate it. The pic does NOT do these pies (or cake) justice. YUM! And don't you worry, there's always plenty left over for Thanksgiving night too... and the night after that. (banana cream, mint chocolate cake and pear/apple/pecan pie)
Thanksgiving day was full of dinner prep while all the cousins played. Then it was time to gobble.
And gobble we did. We decided we stink at food presentation, but what we lack in fanciness is made up by how yummy it all is!
Once we were sufficiently full and the mess was cleaned up, it was time for our Lundquist Christmas! The cousins LOVE exchanging presents and it's so nice to not have to worry about family presents for the rest of the month.
The fun continued the next day! We started off with all 20 of us heading to see Frozen (very cute!). Then it was lunch at Cafe Rio (Great Grandma hadn't ever had it!) and then back home where Grandpa worked with the boys on making a bunch of rubber band guns.
This left the adults to have some time for a game of speed scrabble. Then we had a sitter come to watch all the little ones while we went to see Catching Fire (yes, that's 2 movies in one day! Yay for vacation!)
Saturday morning we said goodbye to Great Grandma.
It was also game day for the guys. BYU football to watch in the afternoon and a BYU basketball game to go to that night.
The gals were able to squeeze in a little shopping and then had a gingerbread (graham cracker) house decorating party with the kids.
Now all the family is gone, the Christmas decorations are up and I'm ready to take on December!
