Bryan and I decided to start a new tradition. As soon as that last school bell rings, on the last day of school, we pick up our darlings and head out for a weekend celebration camping trip!

As soon as we arrived there we got busy setting up camp... had to beat the sun from setting. It's super hard to set up tents in the dark. Once we got everything up we had just enough time to roast a few marshmallows before heading to bed. After singing a few hymns to my littles they were all fast asleep in their sleeping bags. My sweet family all crammed in our tent. I went to bed feeling blessed... and cold.

The next morning I was exhausted. Little man Knox wasn't happy sleeping in his pack n play, but was more than happy to be cuddled up next to me in my sleeping bag. Well that meant I didn't sleep at all... didn't want to roll over on him, didn't want to smother him with the sleeping bag, etc. One tired mama.

This was Tessa's first time sleeping in a sleeping bag. She kept telling me she wanted her crib back home. But once she fell asleep, she was OUT! And she was the last one to wake up in the morning.

Good morning Beautiful!

We started off the day with breakfast. Uncle Devin did a great job with the sausage and bacon.

We had a hard time getting the kids to stop and eat breakfast. They were too excited for the day ahead.

Mostly their little minds were focused on going shooting with their dads. Like it was all they could talk about. We found them just staring at the guns. Dangerous. Heaven help us. Luckily, when the dad's finally did take them shooting, it went well. Each boy got his turn shooting all the guns and learning all about gun safety. And funny enough, once they got back the fascination with it all had dropped. whew!

Of course we also got some hiking in. This is a great pic of the whole crew before our first hike.

What a view! It actually made me quite nervous. Lots of crazy little boys next to a big cliff. Yikes! I didn't last long there.

You get a lot into a day when you wake up with the sun. So after hiking and shooting we still had plenty of time for lots more! The boys all got plenty of rides on the quad.

Or just sat on them and pretended they were riding (there was at least one boy on the quad at all times!)

We also had a few dirt bikes up there. The boys can't wait til they're old enough to ride them.

Ty was so excited by the idea that he asked me to do a little photo shoot of him next to the bikes. I have about 10 pics of him posing :)

There was also lots of pretending with every rock and stick... made into weapons of course.

Boys are so funny.

We had time for another hike before heading back for dinner.

Cason and his love for watermelon! And check out his dirty hands!

Tessa ate almost nothing else but gogurts. And refused to wear shoes.

Love my boys.

After a long fun day, every face was dirty, but happy. After more smores it was time to tuck everyone in bed again. This time I got Knox all tucked into his carseat, which worked like a charm, and I slept great... for being in a sleeping bag in a cold tent.

The next morning was time for clean up and take down. Kids wanted to stay for a week. Maybe someday. Look at all these dirty cute kids!

This happy dirty face says it all! A great weekend! And now what are we going to do for the rest of the summer? Oh... I've got lots of ideas!
