The 4th of July is inching it's way up to being one of my favorite holidays. What's not to like (well besides the extreme heat)? We start off the day with going out to breakfast with family and friends and then heading out to our reserved spots on the parade route.

This parade is awesome. We're talking marching bands, pretty princesses on huge floats, jeeps that climb up on top of each other, and buckets of candy! The kids loved it.

Check out their buckets of candy. I wasn't exaggerating.

Afterward we went back to Nanna's and Gunka's for swimming and a BBQ with friends and cousins.

We have a new obsession with goggles.

Even Tessa loves the goggles.

We did lots of eating and relaxing. It's exactly what a holiday should be full of.

That night we did our own fireworks. Tessa was thrilled about the sparklers and was having lot of fun watching our little firework display (put on by the Dads and uncles) until one firework came shooting straight at us. Kids were a little nervous after that.

So happy 4th! And here's to counting down the best holiday of the year... Halloween is next!
