2 Bachelors in one week. And one is hometowns. How awesome is that! Hometowns is my favorite episode of every season. We start things off in Kansas MO with Nikki (in a cute white lace shirt) where he's introduced to BBQ and some bull riding (the mechanical kind). Then its off to meet the family. Typical pretty Bachelorette home (looks staged) and awkward family interviews. Had to laugh out loud when she said that she doesn't think she's "in for any surprises" by becoming a mother. Bahhaaa! Everyone seems nice enough, no crazies to be scared of.
Now we're in Georgia with Andi. And because Juan Pablo has made her do some "crazy things… like soccer and dancing" she is taking him to do something "crazy," they're going to a shooting range. Crazy. Poor guy was a terrible shot. Then off to her home where "pookie" was greeted by mom, dad, sister (who's gorgeous too) and brother in law. Dad was ticked off when he heard his pookie didn't get a one on one date until there were 8 girls left! Kind of a "nobody puts baby in the corner" kind of moment. Juan won mom over with his salsa moves but dad just can't get over that Juan's dating 3 other people. In the end I must say I'm not getting a good vibe from Juan Pablo about Andi. I see hesitance from him. The first to pull away from a kiss. A forced smile. Hmmmm.
But on to bigger and better things, we're in Florida with Renee! It's been 2 months since she's seen her son! Oh I can't imagine that!!! She's totally in her element, bare feet in the sand, beachy waved hair and a tasseled swimsuit cover top. Her son arrives at the baseball field, and they run to each other, best moment ever. Little Ben is cute and shyly says his hello to the touchy Venezuelan guy. Then they watch Ben's little league baseball game. It's life. Afterward it's on to meeting the rest of the fam. Nothing weird. Juan Pablo comments that things with Renee are "just so nice. Natural. " Yes. That's it. That's real life. But is it enough for him?
Ew. Going from Rockin' Renee to crazy Claire in Sacramento made me cringe. She's nuts. She reminds me of the typical girl that does all the right things to get a guy, she flirts just right, giggles just right, licks her lips just right, makes him feel like "the man" and she's the needy girl. It kinda makes me want to throw up. She chose to meet at a park. I was worried about her shoe choice for the park, platform sandals along a goose infested shore line is a no no. Now off to meet a gaggle of women. She doesn't look anything like her sisters or mom, but Grandma looks just like her. Oh wait I was totally confused. The Grandma is her mom. The mom is her sister. Anyway, most of them are normal. Looks like there's one crazy. Sister Laura seems to normalize a bit after Juan says all the right things, leaving him to chat with Mom (who hadn't gotten a word in at this point. Too many daughters to talk for her). They converse in Spanish and Juan thinks he's gotten Mom's approval. "She is so understandable of the whole situation" he says. Yes, very understandable :)
A few days later they're all meeting in Miami for the rose ceremony. Clare looks pretty amazing in her hot pink, couldn't be any tighter dress. Nikki has been shopping in the juniors department. Andi's little black dress is ok. And Renee's one shouldered green dress looks a little lopsided. First rose goes to Nikki, 2nd rose to Clare… holding my breath…. last rose goes to ahhhhhhh Andi! Nooooooooooo! My Renee is gone. My real, totally awesome Renee is leaving. Her limousine farewell speech was so… Renee, so mature and lacking in crazy. Well now who I am going to root for? I didn't really have a 2nd runner up. Did you? And what's up with the fantasy suite drama? What do you think it is (and if you've read spoilers please don't comment). After JP telling Clare they can't swim in the ocean together at night because it's just not right for his daughter to see, I can't imagine he'd really go too far in the fantasy suite. It's gotta be something else! But what??
