**inside the new conference center where General Conference is held**For those of you who read this that don't know, I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, more commonly known as a Mormon. Every spring and fall our worldwide church gathers (in Salt Lake City, in churches around the world and for the lucky ones of us with cable, around our TVs) for a conference. We call it General Conference. The speakers at the conference are leaders of our church (men and women), modern day apostles and our prophet. Their words are uplifting, inspirational and true. This weekend is General Conference. I'm so excited. Two sessions are held on Saturday and two sessions on Sunday. Each of them are two hours long. We DVR them... mostly because the little ones don't exactly make it easy to hear all the talks. So we watch the ones we missed throughout the following weeks. They are broadcasted on KSL-TV, KSL (AM), KBYU (FM), and KBYU-TV. You can also listen to it by going to the church's website www.lds.org. Even if you are not of my faith, it is worth watching. The counsel is so helpful for strengthening your marriage, being a better mother and committing to being a better Christian. Oh it's so great!
Also, for those of you that didn't know, the Church is working on a new website, which at some point will replace the old one. It's www.new.lds.org Pretty cool. What's even cooler is that on that site is a video about my hometown and it stars my parents!! (okay that's a total exaggeration... but you can see my mom about 10 seconds into the video standing by a car and my dad's voice is used during it to talk about the grape picking... whoo hoo!)
