The boys have been counting down the days until our trip to the ocean. And since the boys have no concept of days, I got asked every hour or so if it was time to go to the airport. Finally we sat down and drew out a chart with pictures to count it down (sleep, church, nap, dinner, sleep, breakfast...etc) and after each event we crossed it off. That totally worked! So this morning we woke up with only a picture of an airplane flying over the ocean remaining on our chart.
The flight went amazingly smooth considering we were traveling with 3 kids 3yrs and under (though a flight delay caused us to have to RUN to our connecting flight and Cason had a blow out that came up to his shoulders). The key to my success: a portable DVD player and lots of food.
But now we're here and having a fabulous time! We hit an InNOut as soon as we got off the plane (YUMMMM!) and then dashed out to the beach. The kids weren't disappointed! Pure joy... experienced by them playing and by me watching them play.
The evening ended with roasting hotdogs and marshmallows, and after putting the kiddos to bed, watching American Idol (and voting for David Archelletta!!).
